Your first point of contact
Are you ill or do you have a question about your health? Then you go to the GP first. You choose a GP yourself, usually in your neighbourhood, and register there.
For an appointment you call the practice, or you book online.
The practice nurse
Many GPs have a (POH). You can go to the POH for example for long-term complaints and also for mental health complaints.
Referral, interpreter and confidentiality
Do you need specialist care? Then the GP refers you, for example to the hospital or a psychologist.
You have the right to use an interpreter. Everything you discuss with the GP or the falls under medical confidentiality.
